Stephanie Lewis, M.Ed., is currently a Workforce Development Project Manager and Instructional Designer at the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida. She has a wide range of skills in online and instructor led course development, webinar coordination, video production, multimedia and graphic design, and conference and workshop planning. She has a strong technical background and provides technical support for online and instructor led training. Ms. Lewis employs the ADDIE design model, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick Model in designing, developing, and evaluation online and instructor led courses. Most recently, Ms. Lewis led the coordination and development of The Art of Defusing Conflict: De-Escalation Techniques for Transit Operators; Transit Emergencies: Validating Transit Emergencies; Transit System Security; Policies, Procedures, and Work Rules – Best Practices; Transit Dispatch and Supervisor Training; How to Perform a Bus Collision Investigation – A Short Course; The Importance of Photography When Conducting Bus Collision Investigation; Internal Agency Communication – Best Practices; Introduction to Hazard Risk Assessments; and Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery for Florida Transit Systems; Defensive Driving Training Program for Florida Small and Rural Transit Agencies, and the Florida Small and Rural Transit Agency Bus Operator Training programs. Most recently she authored the Florida Transit Manager’s Toolkit which provides tools and resources for Florida’s rural transit agencies.
Through her experience in her current position, she has a broad working knowledge of all aspects of transit from safety, security, training, maintenance, and operations. Ms. Lewis is the Project Manager on the Florida Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP), and Co-Project Manager of the Florida Statewide Transit Training and Technical Assistance (STTAT) Program, where she coordinates technical assistance and training needs for Florida transit agencies. She has also managed several transit safety and operations program assessment/evaluation projects. Ms. Lewis received her Bachelor of Science in Technology Education from The College of New Jersey and her Master of Education in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida. She also holds two Graduate Certificates in Multimedia Design and Web Design. Prior to joining CUTR, Ms. Lewis was a public school teacher at a highly ranked suburban New Jersey high school.
