Sara J. Hendricks, AICP, TDM-CP, is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Urban Transportation Research, University of South Florida. Ms. Hendricks brings over 25 years of experience to her primary research interests in transportation demand management (TDM), growth management, incorporating TDM into planning processes, and bicycle and pedestrian planning. Most recently, Ms. Hendricks has developed recommendations for a regional TDM plan for the Tampa Bay area, under sponsorship from the Florida Department of Transportation. Ms. Hendricks completed recommendations for the Florida Department of Transportation to expand their Roadway Characteristics Inventory to incorporate the statewide Shared Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail system into the development of a multimodal characteristics inventory. Ms. Hendricks has been involved in a variety of transportation projects that address the interface of technologies and institutional arrangements for service delivery to the end user or customer. This includes her project management of a pilot test of an integrated mobile fare payment app at the StarMetro public transit agency in Tallahassee. Ms. Hendricks was the inaugural director of technical support for a transportation management association (TMA) in north Tampa and was Principal Editor of the TMA Handbook: A Guide to Successful Transportation Management Associations, sponsored by the Association for Commuter Transportation. Ms. Hendricks teaches modules on several topics, including telework and alternative work hour strategies, institutional arrangements for the effective delivery of TDM, and trip reduction ordinances, as part of the nationally recognized Florida Commuter Choice Certificate Program (FCCCP). She holds a Master of Regional Planning degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
