About me
James A. Bradford, Jr. has worked in the public transportation industry for over twenty-five years.
He was named to Mass Transit magazine’s top 40 under 40 in 2009 and is a proud member and graduate of both the Leadership APTA (’15) and ENO Senior Transit Executive (’20) developmental programs.
He began his public transportation career while attending college at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) where he worked for the university’s transit system (UMass Transit) as a college student. He would progress the ranks as an operator, dispatcher, and CDL trainer until entering the UMTS student transit management program where he was hired and worked as the UMTS Operations Supervisor until graduation. James went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass-Amherst with an individual concentration in, “Operations Management in Public Transportation.”
Thereafter, he went on to work in various executive management roles for several transit companies to include ATC (CARTA), ATC (Concord-Kannapolis/Rider), Veolia (Northern VA Operations), and First Transit (CT Transit).
James and his family currently reside in Central Florida where he serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) in Saint Petersburg which just launched the St. Pete/Tampa Bay area’s first BRT line (SunRunner) this past October.
