About me
Jodi Godfrey is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida (USF), where she works on the Transit Safety and Workforce Development Program. Ms. Godfrey received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from USF. Ms. Godfrey is the co-chair of the International Women in ITE Committee, the secretary of the TRB Standing Committee on Transit Safety and Security (AP080), and a member of the TRB Committee of Light Rail Transit Systems (AP075) and TRB Women and Gender in Transportation Committee (AME20). Jodi also serves as the vice chair of the American Public Transportation Association Bus Safety Committee. Jodi is passionate about safety, improving diversity in the transportation industry, and fighting to end human trafficking. Ms. Godfrey has published work related to employee safety reporting, crashworthiness and crash energy management of transit buses, onboard technologies to reduce accidents and incidents, National Household Travel Survey trend data analysis, the role of public transit in natural disaster response, attracting and retaining women in the transportation industry, training initiatives to reduce accidents and incidents, and more.
