About me
Kessia Harris provides strategic direction on new and innovative information technologies to benefit the organization. She works with her team to safeguard information system assets, and direct projects and activities of the Technology Department. Kessia has been with the agency for 8 years and severed in various roles. She started as the Data Analyst in the Maintenance department, then moved to the Project Management Office as Assistant Project Manager to work on technology projects before becoming the Project Manager. Kessia has worked on the notable SunRunner BRT project, implementing the agency’s Regional Fare Collections for closed and open payments, known as Flamingo Fares, and the innovative I-275 Bus on Shoulder pilot program with FDOT D7.
She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She is a 2019 graduate of the Leadership PSTA program, a 2024 graduate of APTA’s Emerging Leaders Program and is currently serving an appointment on the Transit Cooperative Research Program Project J-07 Panel. Kessia is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).
