About me
Michael A. Baker, is currently a Training Specialist at the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. He is a certified Transportation Safety Institute, Smith System defensive driving and CDL test preparation instructor. He supervises the fixed route training team and has a strong background in planning and organization. He develops and evaluates instructor led curriculum insuring compliance to federal and local regulations. He manages the Training Provider Registry ensuring all candidates for CDL testing meet the entry level driver training requirements. Mr. Baker is an active member of the safety committee where he assist in maintaining a safety conscious atmosphere for the company. Mr. Baker is also a member of the JTA Cares Team providing assistance to those is need in the Jacksonville Community. An avid motorcycle rider, he is actively engaged in Look Twice Safe A Life campaign reaching out to all employees emphasizing motorcycle safety. Mr. Baker received his Associates of Science in Industrial Management from Florida State College Jacksonville and his Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Mr. Baker proudly served nearly 23 years in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.
